Deeper underground
19th April 2005
What’s going down in Oxford this summer?
Underground is going
down quite nicely, actually. In a series of one-off Bank Holiday parties this
year
Slide and
Simple have joined forces to create
“Overground, Underground”.
The first Underground night on Easter Sunday was a great success and a sign of
a good vibe to come. I’ve been asked to warm up the first two
hours of Underground’s second party on Sunday 1st May. I’ll exclusively
represent the Simple sound system on the night; a grand undertaking and an
honour to keep the regulars bouncing. Following up will be Slide’s usual
suspects Lee Mortimer and Matt Braddock.
So where does the Overground part come in? Well, once the weather warms up and the sun has come out to play, what better way than to spend it merrily down the stream on a massive barge with plenty of floor-space to shake ya ass – yes, it’s boatparty season and there are two parties lined up for the summer Bank Holidays. Once Overground on the boat, it’s then Underground to the club... from 2pm to 2am, can you keep up?! I’m set to play on Bank Holiday Sunday 29th May too.
